BANJARBARU (TABIRkota) – The management of Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) at Syamsudin Noor International Airport in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, conducted a flight simulation on Friday (10/17) ahead of the inaugural flight for the Banjarmasin – Kuala Lumpur international route.
Syamsudin Noor International Airport General Manager, Stephanus Millyas Wardana, stated that the simulation aimed to ensure all international flight processes and facilities ran smoothly, safely, and comfortably.
“If any processes or facilities were found to be non-compliant with regulations, they would be evaluated by the relevant parties,” he said.
InJourney Airports collaborated with AirAsia and CIQ (Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine) to simulate their respective duties and functions during the flight simulation.
He stated that this was the final stage in the entire preparation process for the upcoming international flight.
“This new milestone for South Kalimantan, the historic moment of the inaugural international flight through Syamsudin Noor International Airport, is not only a milestone in the airport’s development, but also a concrete manifestation of the synergy of all relevant parties with one main goal: regional advancement,” he said.
He added that Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) is committed to ensuring seamless, comfortable, and safe flights.
“We hope that the Banjarmasin-Kuala Lumpur route, which will begin operating on October 20, will run smoothly and ensure safety throughout every flight,” he added.
The entire process, from the check-in area to international arrivals, consists of several stages.
The first stage is the departure flow for international passengers, starting with check-in and security screening at the Security Checkpoint. Passengers then proceed to the second floor at Gate 1, where they undergo Immigration, Customs, and airline inspections in preparation for boarding.
The second stage is the arrival flow, which begins with passengers disembarking the aircraft using the Garbarata (airport bridge), proceeding to the international arrivals area, completing the All Indonesia check, undergoing immigration screening, collecting baggage from the conveyor belt, and finally, undergoing Customs and Excise inspection.
